Scott Alexander Hoff, 61, of Alvarado, MN, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 15, 2011, at his home with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born on June 6, 1949 in Warren, MN, the son of Alex and Doris (Hawkinson) Hoff. He was a lifelong resident of the Oslo/Alvarado area. Scott graduated from Oslo High School and attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN. After college, he farmed in the Oslo area. He was married to G. Faye Stadstad. Three children, Scotty, Sarah and Kelly, were born to that union. Later in life, he married Rita Heggestuen (Strong) and together they started Alvarado Bean Company. They made their home in Alvarado where they recently celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
