Henrietta was born March 7, 1914 in Dallas Township, Clinton County, MI and was the daughter of Arthur F. and L. Pearl Stow. She moved to Ionia, MI in 1923 with her mother and stepfather and graduated from Ionia High School in 1931. She took a clerical position at the Ionia State Hospital and fell in love with another employee, Earl G. Graham.
