On October 16, 2022, Sandra Rose Greenlee lost her courageous five-year battle with cancer and returned home to the Lord.

Born November 16, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri, Sandy was the oldest of four children born to Leo F. Glosemeyer and Lauretta L Glosemeyer

In 1962, the family moved from St. Louis to Silver Spring, Maryland where Sandy attended St. Andrew Elementary School, E. Brook Lee Middle School, and Northwood High School.  In 1977, she graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

For 16 years, Sandy taught preschool at Montgomery Children’s Center in Damascus, MD. Being a preschool teacher was a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was “Mrs. Greenlee” to countless 3 and 4 year olds, and they were like her very own.

Sandy loved cats and had six of them while married.  Sandy enjoyed doing arts and crafts for the holidays.  She looked forward to her extended family’s annual trip to the beaches of the Carolinas. She planned special parties for these beloved family trips, including “Las Vegas Night”, “Luau Night” and countless others.

Sandy is survived by Edward Greenlee, her husband of 44 years, as well as daughter Pamela G Savage, husband Daniel Savage, two grandchildren Charles Raymond Savage and Leo Francis Savage of Springfield, Illinois; one son, Scott E Greenlee, wife Katie Greenlee of Amelia, Ohio; two brothers, Ronald Glosemeyer, wife Laurie, of New Bern, NC, Richard Glosemeyer, wife Tara, of New Bern, NC; and one sister Lori Dutra, husband James, of Oxford, NC.  Additionally, Sandy is survived by many nieces and nephews and over forty first cousins.
