Sam was born on November 9, 1931 to Sam and Ruby Meagher. He met and married Joan Page on November 5, 1954. Together they traveled from one base to another in the military. Sam served 23 years in the United States Army and 11 years in the Unites States Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam. This union was blessed with three children.
