Samuel Blaine Jackson of St. James passed away with his family at his side on Saturday November 1, 2008 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. He was 71 years 10 months and 12 days of age.
Sam, as he was know by his family and friends, was born December 20, 1936 the son of the late Lloyd and Julia Williams Jackson.
On July 25, 1958, at the St. James Christian Church, Sam was united in marriage to Linda Woolard. Performing the ceremony was Fred Barber.
Sam is survived by his dear wife Linda of the home, Son: Steve and wife Erica of St. James and one Sister: Fern Heflin of Springfield. Sister-In-Law: Helen Sewell and husband Bill of Rolla, Cousin: Charlotte Williams and husband John of St. James. Along with Kaylee, Kenzie and Kori, his 3 grandchildren whom Sam thought so much of.
Sam was born and raised in St. James. He graduated from John F. Hodge High School and worked for his dad at the family Bakery and Gas Station. Sam was called to serve his country and after his military service he married Linda Woolard. Sam owned the Taxi Cab in St. James for many years and retired from Chrysler having worked for 25 years.
