Age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. She was born on May 20, 1931 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Knapp) Sliker. Mrs. VanPoperin was a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneers, First Congregational Church of Portland, and the Portland Civic Players. Sally was a graduate of Cass Tech in Detroit. She was an avid skier, enjoyed playing golf, singing in various choirs and traveling. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jim; brother, Ben Sliker. Surviving are her daughter, Charlene (Al) Lazette of Portland; step children, Gwen (Bill) Coon of St. Johns, and Keith (Judy) VanPoperin of Jackson; grandchildren, Allison (Tony) Lazette-Magnan, Christie (Chris Smith) Lazette, Amy (Shane) Gold, and Dana (Nathan) Ellsworth; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Vera St. Jean.
