Russell Smith, beloved father of Michelle, Michael and Kathleen passed away on February 9. 2023, He was born in Portland, Maine, son of Russell Edward Sr. and Leila Barker Smith, he attended Portland Public schools.
Mr. Smith worked for Ron Sevigny and Company for many years, as well as Ocean Canyon, Nappi’s, then Maine Medical Center Laundry and Botto’s Bakery in later years.
He was predeceased by his partner of many years, Marlaine Staples, as well as his former wife, Sandra Smith. He was also predeceased by his grandson, John McDonald III.
He is survived by his children Michelle Wildes and her husband Mark of Sanford Maine, Michael Smith and his fiancée Elizabeth of Old Orchard Beach Maine, and Kathleen McDonald and her husband John of Oxford Maine. He is also survived by a brother, Timothy Smith of Santa Cruz California, and a former wife, Bonnie Smith, of Portland Maine. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
The family is very grateful for the loving care he received in his final months at the Bella Point Fryeburg residential home.
