Age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014. He was born on May 27, 1935 in Clare, MI the son of Vernon S. and Mary J. (Kovack) Pifer. Mr. Pifer retired from Popoff Meat Company after 25 years of service. Russell liked to travel, seeing much of the country, and also enjoyed camping. He loved to hunt, especially deer and rabbits. Preceding him in death were his parents; infant brother, Richard in 1943; sister, Shirley Casner. Surviving are his wife, Margery Pifer of Lansing; step children, Doug (Toni) Bennett of Fremont, and Pamela Morgan of Webbervile, MI; brother, Vern J. (Dot) Pifer of Portland; nephews, Bill (Denise) Casner of Onondaga, MI, Bob (Kim) Casner of Tennessee, and Brad (Hollie) Casner of Dimondale, MI; several cousins.
