Rudolph (Rudy) A. Ferrante passed away at Pine Point Nursing Home on August 28, 2014.
Rudy grew up in the Little Italy section of Portland, Maine on Newbury St and attended local schools and graduated from PHS in 1941 and then entered the US Navy during WW11, and discharged in Nov 1945 and returned to Portland after the War.
Rudy’s father, Camillo, a granite contractor who died in 1931 from blood poisoning caused by a simple construction accident. So Rudy was the man of the house at age 9 and when he went to war in 1941, his mother was alone yet watched and helped by neighborhood friends until Rudy’s return in November 1945.
