Ruby Jane Clary, 83 of Baudette, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Lake Wood Health Center in Baudette. She was born January 8, 1924 in Baudette to Ruben and Helen Varco. Ruby attended both elementary and high school in Baudette. Shortly after her schooling, Ruby moved to Spokane, Washington where she was employed at an ammunition factory, producing materials for the World War II efforts. Ruby returned to Baudette in 1942 and went to work at Rowell Laboratories as one of their original employees. In 1945 Ruby married Charles Tischart in Baudette. They had four children. Charles passed away in 1967.
Ruby continued to work for Rowell Laboratories as a production and packaging supervisor until her retirement in 1984. She had been a loyal employee for 42 years.
Following retirement, Ruby married Richard Clary in Baudette. They wintered in Ladylake, Florida for a few years. Eventually, they made Baudette their year round home. Ruby was very dedicated to her family and always made them her first priority.
In her early years, Ruby was an active member of the Women of the Moose organization. Later in life, her hobbies included reading, working crossword puzzles, flower gardening, trying new recipes and shopping.
Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Tischart; her second husband, Richard Clary; her brother, Osborne Varco; her son, Gary Tischart and her step-son, John Clary.
Survivors include her children: LaRaine (Dorvin) Baker of Wimberley, TX; Chuck (Kathy) Tischart of Baudette; Nanci (Gerald) Paulseth of Sturgeon Lake, MN; her twin sister, Helen Johannsen of Baudette; her grandchildren, Jayne (Donny) Serfoss; Angela (Tony) Jarvis; Lindsey Tischart; Tara Tischart; Carley Paulseth and Erik Paulseth; her great grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Chelsea, Connor, and Sophie; a great great granddaughter, Lileeann; a niece, Barbara Koster; a nephew, Wade Johannsen; a step-daughter, Lynn Anderson of Fridley, MN and step-grandchildren Jamie and Aaron Clary.
