Age 86, passed away at Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. He was born on September 23, 1926 in Muir, MI the son of Eugene and Elizabeth (Henderson) Kirby. Royal had many passions in life, including bowling, golfing, football and baseball. He was a hunter and fisherman, which he enjoyed doing with his many friends. Royal was a Chrysler retiree, member of the Ionia Moose Club, earning his Pilgrim Degree, and served in various positions of the Moose as well. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Ernie Kirby; sisters, Mabel Hunt, Pauline Adair, and Ethel Shepley; grandson, Levi Kirby. Surviving are his loving and caring wife of 7 months, Cheryl Kirby; children, Lee Kirby of Las Vegas, Melody Kirby of Hawaii, Karen and Doug Krouse of Florida, Valerie and Gary Teeguarden of Indiana, Carl Kirby of Grand Rapids, Kim and Kelvin Miller of Grand Haven; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Bredice, Josephine Sheldon, Arlyn and Ruth Witherell, and Margie Jackson; sister-in-law, Audrey Kirby of Lyons; many nieces and nephews, as well as Cheryl’s immediate family.
