Art was born on June 6, 1929 to his parents Fred O. and Erma Alara (Clark) Southard. He was united in marriage to Wynette Moreland on Arpil 7, 1951. To this union three children were born.
Art served in the Korean War from February, 1952 to February, 1954. He was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Art was a farmer and loved farming. He was a hog producer for several years also. Then he became a truck driver and drove an over the road semi from 1974 to 1997 when he retired from trucking. Art loved to go fishing and went every spare moment he could. He was most proud of his garden and enjoyed it very much. He was also loved doing truck farming.
