Rosie Lee Stricklin Calder, 84, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Phelps County Regional Center in Rolla, Missouri. She was born August 20, 1923 to Autta and Hettie (Dotson) Chandler. On April 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Lindell Stricklin who preceded her in death on October 5, 1991. On December 7, 1998, she was also united in marriage to Bill Calder who preceded her in death on April 1, 2006.

She will be sadly missed by her five sons, Jerry Stricklin and wife Lisa of Edgar Springs, MO, Donnie “Hollywood” Stricklin and wife Mary, Jimmy Stricklin and Paul Stricklin all of Cherryville, MO and Ronnie Stricklin of Steelville, MO; five daughters, Alberta Lynch and husband Jim of Venice, CA, Ruby Garton and husband Bennie of Apple Valley, CA, Brenda Blocker and husband Gene of LeMoore, CA, Janet Vriese and husband Roy of Las Vegas, NV and Velma Plementosh of Myrtle Beach, SC; four sisters, Lottie Holland and husband Ernest and Betty Coplin and husband Don all of Cuba, MO, Geraldine Dicus of Steelville, MO and Bertha Carrick and husband Fred of Cherryville, MO; two sisters in-law, Fay Chandler of Cuba, MO and Etta Chandler of Steelville, MO; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, Charlie and Eugene Stricklin, one daughter, Verla Mae Stricklin, three brothers, Norman Chandler, Don Chandler and Montie Chandler, two sisters, Donna Fay Wilhite and Marie Jelinek, one daughter in-law Maxine Stricklin and three brothers in-law Gene Dicus, Elmer Pyatt and Frank Jelinek.

Rosie had attended the Coffee Community Church outside Steelville when health permitted and enjoyed watching the television evangelists.
