Age 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at The Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland. She was born on June 14, 1913 in Portland, MI the daughter of Raymond J. and Linnie I. (Mills) Bennett. Rosamond was a 1930 graduate of Ionia High School , and also a graduate of Davenport Business College in Grand Rapids. She married Fancher J. Hogan in Ionia in 1933. Rosamond worked at the AC Sparkplug plant during World War II, at the Ionia A & P grocery store after the war, and was a licensed psychiatric nurse at the Ionia State Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1975. Rose was an independent, capable and loving mom, grandma and sister, who enjoyed good health most of her life. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November of 1975, and enjoyed sharing her faith with others whenever she could. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy Bennett; brothers-in-law, Norval Clifford and Harding DePotty; son-in-law, Richard Courser; step grandson, Gary Courser. Surviving are her son, Gary (Barbara) Hogan of Ionia; daughters, Shirley Courser of Coldwater and Sharon (Daniel) Harrington of Wayland; sisters, Winifred Clifford of Lowell and Lois DePotty of Ionia; 8 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
