Ronald Vartan Avedesian passed away peacefully on January 8, 2018. Born in Highland Park, MI on January 30, 1934, he was the son of Vahram and Virginia (Krekorian) Avedesian. He received his specialized education and graduated from Henry Ford Trade School. He then earned his Associates Degree from Henry Ford Community College. Ron worked at Ford Motor Company and retired after 40 years of loyal service. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve after his honorable discharge. He married Mary “Mimi” Kushigian on May 23, 1959 and they were blessed with the birth of two children, Robin and Jeff. Ron loved all sports. He excelled in baseball, golf, hockey, and basketball. He refereed high school football and basketball. Also, after retirement from Ford, he worked for the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed going hunting in Michigan where he was able to get good use of his golf clubs. He also worked at the Detroit MGM Casino. He was the kind of person who was happy just to keep busy.
