Rodney Allen Thortsen, age 73 of Chicago, IL and formerly of Roseau, MN passed away on August 30, 2006 at his home in Chicago.
Rodney was born on July 24, 1933 in Ross Township of Roseau County, MN to Hilma (Johnson) and Julius Thortsen. He attended school in Roosevelt and Roseau. He moved to Chicago, IL at the age of 19. He started working in the construction industry until a work injury forced him to end his career.
Rodney loved to fish, play cards, and watch sports, especially his Chicago Cubs. He was a very kind and generous man, who cared about other people.
He is survived by his siblings, Harold (Theowen) Thortsen of Warroad, Ardell Bruce of Warroad, Dale (Linda) Thortsen of Matthews, NC and DeEtta (Duane) Comstock of Salol, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orvin and Jackie and a sister, Deloris.
