Roberta Ann Henson, 74, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Hermann Area District Hospital.

Roberta was born June 7, 1937 in Oswego, Kansas, daughter of the late William & Berniece (Brader) Pryor.

She was the wife of Robert E. Henson, D.O. They were married on November 26, 1960 at Scammon, Kansas. He survives in Hermann.

Roberta is also survived by her children, son Robert Henson II, M.D. & wife Kim of Denver, Colorado, son Ross Henson of Hermann, daughter Rene Bana & husband Kirk of Wentzville, Missouri & daughter Rona Coltman & husband Brad of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, by seven grandchildren Ross & Thomas Henson of Hermann, Heath & Heather Bana of Wentzville and Emma, Esther & Ella Coltman of Lake Geneva. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother William Pryor.

Roberta received her Certified Registered Nurse degree from St. Carmel in Pittsburg, Kansas and her Certified Surgical Nurse from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She worked for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, Oswego Hospital, Oswego, Kansas and Wetzel Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. She worked as the Education Coordinator and for Frene Valley Health Care Corporation. She was highly involved in the Long Term Care Educators Association as a board member and volunteer developing programs for the nursing home industry.

Roberta was an active member in her community as well. She was a Life time Girl Scout member. As a member she was President of the Heart of Missouri Girl Scout Association, National Convention Delegate, Day Camp Director of Camp Bachimtal, Girl Scout Leader and Catholic Girls Scout Coordinator in Hermann. She was the founder and coordinator of the Hermann Area District Hospital Candy Striper program. She belonged to various Auxiliary organizations such as Auxiliary for the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (AMAOPS) as state president and for Auxiliary American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (AACOS) on various committees. She volunteered for St. George Catholic School as School nurse and Home and School President. As a Jaycee Wives member she served as vice president and volunteered on many committees.
