Age 69, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009. He was born on July 1, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Gaylord and Marion (Davison) Gross. Bob retired as a Major in the United States Army after 21 years of service. During his service he was an Army Aviator and flew 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #2168, and the Portland VFW Post #4090. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frederick Gross; Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Priscilla “Cil” Gross; children, Lynn (Michael) Winter of Portland, Robert L. (Holly) Gross, Jr. of California, Dawn (Adam) Holcomb of Portland, Deanna (Jim) Gromelski of Colorado, Steve (Kelly) Gross of Colorado, and David Secor of California; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sue (Tom) Lasky of Martin, Tennessee and Pamela (Terry) Christensen of Spring Lake, MI; several nieces and nephews; special friend for many years Mike Steffes; his special dog, Prissy.
