Age 80, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on August 31, 2009. He was born on November 5, 1928 in Grand Ledge the son of Anthony and Dora (Rademacher) Pohl. Corkey was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Westphalia and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving in Germany and a member of the Fowler, Pewamo, Westphalia V.F.W. Post #3939. Corkey retired from Consumers Power in 1988 and was a life long farmer, living his entire life on the family homestead. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Red Beachnau and Steve Schafer; sister-in-law Lorraine Pohl. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marie (Schafer); children Cheryl (Randy) Thelen of Westphalia, Sandy (John) Winans of Westphalia, Dean (Ann) Pohl of Riverside CT, Lynne (Kevin) Wieber of Westphalia; grandchildren Shane, Nicolas, Amber Thelen; Paige, Brad, Travis Winans; Phoebe and Charlotte Pohl and Brooke, Brandon and Blake Wieber; sister Jeanette Beachnau; brothers Anthony (Ellen) Pohl and Elvan (Mary Ellen) Pohl; brother-in-law, Don (Geraldine) Schafer; sister-in-law, Sr. DePaul Schafer; many nieces, nephews and friends.
