Robert “Bob” Swanson, 55, of Camden, AR, formerly of Warren, MN, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2020, in his brother’s home on Lake Upsilon, ND, surrounded by his family.
Robert Lee Swanson was born on June 12, 1965, in Fleming, KY. He was adopted in 1973 by the Swanson family of Warren, MN, and grew up a cherished son of Gale and Gloria (Prather), and brother of Randy, Robin, and Renae. He had a number of nicknames in the area, and “Hobart” was active in scouting all through his school years and played football for the Ponies. He was a lifelong fan of Johnny Cash and his music.
Following his graduation from Warren High School in 1984, Bob and his family moved to California. He worked in security there before moving to Sand Springs, OK. Bob later took a job with Victory Lumber in Camden, Arkansas, where he worked as a scale master. On July 19, 2002, Bob was united in marriage to Pamela Kilburn. He was blessed with nearly two decades of marriage and the additional family that went with it, including a step-daughter and her children, whom he treated like grandchildren. He and Pamela were members of Grace Baptist Church of Camden.
He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and will be long remembered for his lively sense of humor. Bob loved to make people happy and kept those around him laughing for hours. May God bless his memory.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pamela of Sand Springs, OK; brother, Randy Swanson of St. John; sister, Renae Swanson of Warren; niece and nephew, Alexis Swanson-Coleman and Roman (Gisselle) Swanson; step-daughter, Jennifer Holt; and grandchildren, Devon, Logan, and Chloe.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Gloria; sister, Robin Swanson; and in-laws, Marie and Teddy Kilburn, Sr.
