Scarborough – Robert F. Pikor, 72, of Cumberland Center, formerly of Connecticut, passed away on August 24, 2014. He was born in Hartford, CT on May 6, 1942, the son on Frank J. and Helen (Plis) Pikor. Robert grew up in West Hartford. After high school, Robert went on to graduate from Gannon University in Erie, PA and later pursued a Master’s degree at Trinity College in Hartford.
Robert dedicated his life to the service of others, both people and animals. He served in the Peace Corps and Project Vista, working with Native Americans in the Western U.S., and served as an officer with the Hartford Police Department. He later went on to teach high school history for many years in New Milford, Rocky Hill, and Bridgeport, Connecticut before retiring to Maine in 2005. Throughout his life, Robert spent much of his time volunteering and trying to enrich the lives of others.
Robert was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his sisterLorraine Mulligan and her husband Thomas, Jr., of Bridgeport (their children Thomas, Christoper and Gregory) and his sister Valerie Phelps of Houston, TX (her children Kristin Murray, Kerri Phelps, Kyle Phelps, and Kevin Phelps).
