Robert Cecil Martin, 78, of Cherryville entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his home. Cecil was born January 14, 1929, the son of Robert Clark “Dick” and Frona May Trask Martin. He was united in marriage to Floye “Flo” Irene Bryant on September 1, 1951 in Davisville , Missouri .

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Flo of 55 years, one son Bobby Martin and wife Vicky of Cherryville, two grandchildren Stacy Lynn Brown of Cuba and Cody Martin of Cherryville, three brothers Albert Martin and wife Lorene of Steelville, Henry Martin and wife Bonnie of Davisville, and Jim Martin and wife Betty of Steelville, two sisters Roberta White and Mabel Volner both of Steelville.

Cecil was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Fae Brown and his sister Anna May White.

Cecil was a faithful member of the Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of Cherryville. He worked at Cupples Corporation and Chrysler. Later they purchased the Ozark Cafe in Steelville and Cecil became known as a professional pie maker. He would get up early in the mornings to make pies for the restaurant. Cecil and “Flo” sold the restaurant in 1972 and he went to work for the State Highway Department in Cherryville.
