Robert “Bob” Greer, 76, of Angus, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, March 26, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Robert R. Greer was born on May 20, 1944 in Walker, MN, the son of Edwin and Inger (Husby) Greer. He was raised in Walker and he graduated from Walker High School. Robert served in the US Army from 1965 – 1967 and he was stationed in Korea. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and was united in marriage to Janice “Jan” Penk on June 30, 1968 at Lublin, WI. They made their home in Brooklyn Park, MN before moving to Angus in 1978. Robert worked for Harvest States for twenty-five years, City of Warren for twelve years and part-time for Walmart for fifteen years.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Warren American Legion Post #27.
Bob enjoyed playing softball, golfing and fishing with family and friends. He always had a friendly greeting and was known for his great laugh and infectious smile.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of almost fifty-three years, Jan; two sons, Jon (Kari) Greer of Spokane, WA and Joey Greer of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Jordan Greer (Olivia Kendrick) of Phoenix, AZ, Alexis (Elliott) Olerud of Fargo, ND and Owen and Jillian Greer of East Grand Forks, MN; great-grandson, Harrison Olerud; siblings, Edwin (Anna) Greer, Jim (Pat) Greer, Helen Sautbine and Rick (Pam) Greer; sister-in-law, Dorothy Greer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Inger Greer; step-father, Dale Miller; brother, William Greer; brother-in-law, Chuck Sautbine and sister-in-law, Kathy Greer.
