Robert W. Adams (Bob) of Denton, MD, passed away at his home on Friday, January 26, 2018. He was 71 years old.
Born in Greensboro, MD on July 28, 1946, Bob was the son of Charlotte Anne Smith Adams Porter of Denton and the late Wilbur J. Adams. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran (during the TET offensive). He was proud to have served his country.
Bob had been part owner and manager of the Other Place bar and grill in Ridgely, MD. He also worked construction for Islander Homes in Ocean Pines, MD and was a self-employed house painter specializing in interior work. In addition, he had been a partner in the Cawley Christmas Tree Farm, LLC in Denton. Bob was also a one man pit crew for Streetdancer Harley Davidson Drag Racing for the last 10 years. Bob was an avid canoeist, kayaker, and a white water rafting enthusiast. He travelled up and down the East Coast rivers, but Maryland’s Tuckahoe River was close to his heart and he helped establish a canoe trail there. He loved camping and hiked long distances on the Appalachian Trail. Bob was also a dedicated bird watcher and nature lover; he most definitely was a conscientious environmentalist. His favorite hobby was searching for Native American artifacts of which he maintained an extensive collection.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by a brother, Jack Adams (Dale) of Greensboro, MD; and two nephews and God Sons, David Adams and Robert Taylor. He is predeceased by two brothers, Michael J. Adams and Thomas E. Adams.
