Robert Anthony Lawless

Portland

Age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. He was

born on September 18, 1924 in Orange Twp., Michigan the

son of John and Laura (Snitgen) Lawless. Robert graduated

from Portland High School in 1942 and was a lifelong

resident of Portland. He was a member of St. Patrick

Catholic Church and the Portland V.F.W. Robert served in

the Army during World War II in the Pacific. He retired

in June of 1982 from the Department of Corrections as a

captain. His family was the focus of his life. Robert is

preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Doris

(Fedewa) Lawless; sister, Ruth Black; brother-in-law,

Frank Black; and sister-in-law, Revella Lawless. He is

survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Alice; daughter,

Sandy Hyland of Portland; sons, Larry (Jean) Lawless of

Marquette, Ken (Cindy) Lawless of Portland, Tom (Deb)

Lawless of N. Yarmouth, Maine, and Steven (Gina) Lawless

of Lahaina, Hawaii; grandchildren, Cari (Michael)

Schueller, Dana Hyland, Jason (Julie) Hyland, Michael

Lawless, Heather Lawless, Kristi Lawless, Kimberly (Wes)

Avery, John Lawless, Andrew Lawless, Sarah Lawless, Joshua

Lawless, Carter Lawless, Matthew Lawless and Stephanie

Lawless; great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Caleb

Schueller, Dalton, Taylor and Tavin Hyland, and Grace
