Born in St Paul and passed away in St Paul on 4/23/2023. Rita’s life was a beautiful testament to her Catholic faith and her devotion to her family. She was a graduate of St Mark’s Grade School, Derham Hall High School, and the College of St Catherine. Rita and her dear husband Steve were married for 64 years and raised their family in St Paul, then resided in Mendota Heights and Naples FL before returning permanently to MN.
Preceded in death by husband Steve; parents Ted and Bess Swenson, siblings Ted(Mary) Swenson, Betty(G Lee) Runyon, Mary Jane(George) Roedler, Eleanor(Jim) Connolly, Joan(Jay) Laramy Hansen; son-in-law Dave Bixler; great-granddaughter Rosalind Keenan.
Survived by her loving children: daughters Pattie Bixler, Lisa(Eric) Hambidge, Maggie(Bob) Berry; sons Stephen(Deborah Keenan), John(Shelly), Joe, Dave(Mary), Dan(Helena); 28 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren (and one more on the way); brother-in-law Jim Seidel and sister-in-law Katy(David) Mechtenburg; many nieces and nephews.
