Richard “Rich” Avelon of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine on Monday, August 3, 2015. Rich died peacefully with his loving wife Julie Avelon and family by his side. He was born on March 25, 1966 in Oceanside, New York, son of Richard and Diane Aversano.
Rich was an adventurer, always living life to the fullest, and was loved by so many for his kind heart. He was also a patient, devoted step-father and a gracious, loving husband.
He is survived by his wife, his step-daughter Michelle Frizalone, his parents, and his sisters, Marianne Zirogiannis, Bethann Mazzitelli, and Suzanne Castorina. He will be missed by his many friends and extended family, upon whom his considerate spirit and true appreciation of life left a profound effect. Rich, in his last days, wanted his loved ones to know he is “Always onboard, wherever you go.”
