Dick is retired from General Motors and was the fromer owner of Dick’s Bar in Portland. He enjoyed playing cards and going to races. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; sisters Virginia Townsend and Colleen Trierweiler; brothers Stan Hoppes, Jerry Hoppes, Leon Hoppes; brothers-in-law Dick Kelly and Henry Visser; sister-in-law Joan Hoppes. Surviving are his sons Chris Hoppes, Scott (Robin) Hoppes, Brian (Derry) Hoppes and Greg (Lisa) Hoppes all of Portland; 9 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; siblings Alice Kelly, Jim (Sharon) Hoppes, Joe (Alice) Hoppes, Larry (Dee Dee)Hoppes and Tom (Jill) Hoppes; brothers-in-law Bill Trierweiler, and Oscar Townsend; sisters-in-law Mary Hoppes and Jerry Hoppes, Delores Visser, Grace (Connie) Weller, and Donna (Dick) Prins; many nieces and nephews.
