Harpswell- Richard E. Ward, 78, of Wallace Shore Road, passed away on October 15, 2010 at the Winship Green Nursing Center. He was born in Searsport on December 24, 1931, the son of Reynolds and Ruth (Watson) Ward, the youngest of 4 children. He spent most of his childhood in Searsport and attended Searsport schools.
On July 16, 1950 he married Alice M. Barnes and they made their home in Harpswell to raise their family.
Richard worked at Bath Iron Works as a painter for over 20 years. He was also a commercial fisherman, working in the Maine Fisheries in Portland.
Family was a big part of Richard”s life.
