Reba Lee Brand, nee Howdeshell, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 91 years. She was born December 24, 1921 at Dillard, Missouri to Frank and Annie Askins Howdeshell. On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Jewell Brand who preceded her in death in 2003.
Reba worked at Brown Shoe Company and retired from there after thirty plus years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Steelville.
She spent many hours sewing, quilting and enjoying her flower garden and yard.
Reba is survived by her two sons, Thomas Brand and wife Linda of Hazelwood, MO and Robert “Doug” Brand and wife Cinda of Steelville, MO; one brother, Jesse “Cletis” Howdeshell and wife Loretta of Bourbon, MO; one sister, Ithel Owen of Joplin, MO; five grandchildren, James Owen Brand, Russell Dale Brand and wife Susanne, Mary Beth Adams and husband Alan, Amy Suzanne Booker and husband Brian and Tawna Nicole Merritt and husband Bobby; nine great-grandchildren, Colton and Trevor Adams, Abby and Sydney Booker, Kaden and Korbin Merritt, Alexander Burke, Morgan Elizabeth Brand and Ashley Lynn Brand; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jewell Brand, one brother Lee Howdeshell and wife Carol; one sister, Hildred Setzer and husband Minuard; and brother-in-law, Harry Owen.
The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Russ Brand, Trevor Adams, Colton Adams, Jerry Setzer, Jim Brand, Bobby Merritt and Brian Booker.
