Ralph Romaine, age 55 years old, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL surrounded by his family.
Ralph was born on July 18, 1960 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Gerard and the late Marie Izane Romain. He was raised in Washington, DC and attended Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating class of 1978. After graduating high school, Ralph moved to Somerset, NJ on his own from 1982-1985. Ralph started his career in Brooklyn, NY as an IT Specialist for the NYC Department of Education for 25 years until he retired 2010.
Ralph met Sonia Holmes in Brooklyn, NY and they married June 14, 1997. Ralph and Sonia moved to West Orange, NJ in 2003 where they both raised their two children: Jarrod (GiGi) and Danielle (Mita).
Ralph is survived by his devoted son Jarrod and beloved daughter Danielle; his father Gerard Romain Sr. and siblings: Gary, Andy (Vicki Romain) Gerard Jr. (Rosina Romain), Marjorie Zepko (Charles Zepko), Reginald (Roquelina Romain), Diane Fread (Joseph Fread); nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends who loved him and who Ralph lives he touched.
Ralph loved life he was not afraid to take risks. He took pleasure in traveling and he traveled to Egypt in 1995. He enjoyed the art of African studies and played tennis.
