Yeoman 1st class U.S. Navy Ret. Phyllis Louise Brinkman went to Heaven and joined her parents, Oscar and Ella Heydon, her sisters, Martina Riggs, Barbra Bice, and Paulette Jackson on May 28th, 2018. She was born in Clemensaw, Arizona January 25, 1940. She grew up in the Verde Valley area and graduated from Clemensaw High School. After she graduated she joined the US Navy and spent twenty years serving the country she loved. She spent most of her years in San Diego, California but also spent time serving in Hawaii, Arizona, and overseas in Japan. She called Gautier, Mississippi her home since 1999.
She is survived by, Georgia Ricard, Joanna Byrd and their husbands, Joseph Ricard and Christopher Byrd. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Christopher Ricard, Nicole Hunt, Kevin Nance, Lauren Byrd, Alex Byrd, and her brother, Oscar Heydorn Jr. as well as many nephews and nieces that live across the United States. Some of the accomplishments she was most proud of joining the military, climbing MT Fuji while in Japan, and receiving her degree at Yavapai College.
