Phillip Edward Marcille III, 70, of Damariscotta, passed away peacefully in the home that he built on Lake Pemaquid in the loving arms of his wife Nancy “Munchkin” on April 10, 2014 after a long and courageous battle surrounded by family. Phil was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father and a friend to all. He never walked away from anyone in need. He faced multiple medical illnesses and challenges and never gave up his sense of humor and ‘can do’ attitude. Phil always said the only disability was a bad attitude and “if you think you can or you think you can’t your probably right!” Phil was a carpenter and craftsman who loved the smell and feel of wood. He was the owner of Pine Cove Builders, Inc. where he specialized in remodeling excellence and meeting the challenge of making visions become a reality. Phillip was an “old soul” with wisdom and knowledge far beyond his time here on earth. He lived his life full of wonder and awe and loved sharing that in ardent and endless storytelling with all. Phil was always on the go, immersed in a project or problem solving with friends and family. He lovingly acquired the reputation in the family that “Grampa can fix anything” – and he could, from a broken car to a broken heart, he was always there for whoever needed him – sharing his wisdom and skills with unconditional love. Phil lived every day to the fullest – experiencing every moment. He refused to ever grow up and always was involved in devilish pranks accompanied by his infectious laugh that never grew old. He was a proud American and believer in the spirit of hard work and independence. He was country long before being country was cool. He was an avid outdoorsman and respected and loved nature, the smell of the pine forest, and both deep sea fishing and freshwater fishing. He was a collector of antiques and firearms and a member of the NRA. He loved camping and most of all driving the “Big Rig RV” anywhere and everywhere! – from Florida to Mardens parking lot! Phil’s greatest joy in life was his family who he loved passionately and unconditionally. He was proud and committed to each individually and collectively, and shared their stories and successes freely with all he met. Phil was predeceased by his parents Phillip Edward Marcille II and Josephine (Fiorella) Marcille of Damariscotta, ME. He was a loving, passionate and devoted husband to Nancy “Munchkin” Marcille.
