Phillip Dale Hamby, 68, of New Haven, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Hamby was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on January 3, 1947, the son of the late Roy T. and Rosie (Bass) Hamby.
He was the husband of Juanita F. (Saak) Hamby. They were married March 18, 1989 at St. Marcus Church, Rhineland, Missouri. Juanita survives at the home.
Phillip is also survived by a son Robert Dale Crowe & wife Ginny of Hannibal, Missouri, two daughters Dawn Crowe of Linn, Missouri, and Robin Young of Hermann, a son Bill Herring & wife Lisa of Union, Missouri, two granddaughters Samantha & Jessica Wolfe, who Phillip and Juanita raised and considered their children, by their other grandchildren Stephanie Leonard, Michelle & Heather Crowe, Ashley Brandt, Daniel Huff and Bobbie Jo Huff, Brandon Benney, by 24 great grandchildren, by two brothers David Harrell & wife Linda of Camdenton, Missouri and Paul Hamby & wife Paula of Houston, Texas, two sisters Pat Lottin of Florence, Mississippi and Betty McCraken & husband Ruben of Eolia, Misouri, two sisters-in-law Brenda Hamby of Imperial, Missouri and Jane Hamby of St. Charles, Missouri, and by many nieces and nephews that were all very important to him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, by a son Dom Chapman, a daughter Darla Maxey, three brothers Shelby, R.T. and Kenneth Hamby and a sister Alice Chapman.
Phillip proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, Missouri, the Memorial Baptist Church Disaster Relief Organization and Franklin County Disaster Relief Organization.
He worked at Child Evangelistic Fellowship as a printing press operator. He also worked for Leader Publishing in New Haven and for Magnet Inc. in Washington.
