Paul A. Benz, age 88, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Benz was born in Stony Hill, Missouri on March 4, 1927, the son of the late Ernest and Wilhelmena (nee Sewing) Benz.

He was the husband of the late Helen (nee Buescher) Benz.  She passed away on March 8, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife Lottie (nee Schmitz) Benz.  She passed away on January 3, 1983. 

Paul is survived by two sons, Allen Benz and wife Sheila of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Mark Benz and wife Marsha of Hermann, by a sister Helen Kurrellmeyer of Rosebud, six grandchildren Josh, Ian, Cassie, & Miranda Benz, Crystal Valley and Jennifer Priess, by six great grandchildren Cole, Seth, Trey, & Jeff Valley, Summit Rose & Megan Youse.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fred, Edgar, Marvin & Ralph Benz, and sisters Freida Faber, Elsie Hahne, Hilda Wahlig, Dorothy Gumper and Florence Hamm.

Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Rosebud American Legion. 

Paul started working at Zero Manufacturing in Berger and Washington, which later the company changed it’s name to Clemco. After retirement from Clemco he worked for B & H Well Drilling Company. 

Paul enjoyed being outdoors, some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, gardening, cutting grass, and driving around on his four wheeler making sure things were in order. Most of all he loved being around the grandchildren playing games such as pinochle and uno. If you couldn’t find him he would be in his workshop doing woodworking.
