Patricia “Pat” Ann (O’Keefe) Gibbs, 76, of New London, MO passed away at 1:16 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Pat was born on December 10, 1942, in Hannibal, MO at St. Elizabeth Hospital, the daughter of John Henry and Laurel Elizabeth (Perry) O’Keefe.
She was united in marriage to Connie Lee Gibbs on July 16, 1961, in New London, MO at the First Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Moore (Chris Bugh) of Quincy, IL and Stacy Proffitt (Chris) of Fishers, IN; granddaughters, Kenady Moore, Kaitlyn Moore and Alexis Proffitt.
Mrs. Gibbs was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Pat graduated from Mark Twain High School in 1960, and went on to further her education at Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL.
Patricia worked at Western Printing until August 31, 1973, when she was hired as the office secretary for the University of Missouri Extension Ralls County Office. Pat just recently retired after 46 years of service. She was the voice and face of the Extension in Ralls County. During her career she had seen numerous staff changes, equipment changes, technology and location change.
Pat was a lifelong member and deaconess of the New London First Christian Church. She had served on their board since 2004, and was currently serving as their volunteer board treasurer.
Mrs. Gibbs was a past Matron and past District Deputy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Away from work and volunteering, Pat enjoyed life on the farm. She took great pleasure working in her flower beds, and rides around the farm on her side by side with her family. Pat’s biggest love was her family as she cherished the time spent with them and the numerous shopping trips with her granddaughters.
