Patricia Mary Thomsen, a resident of the Laurel and Burtonsville area for 32 years, passed away on August 2, 2016 in Silver Spring, MD. She was 80. She was born on August 22, 1935 to the late Paddy and Mary Hayes in Dublin, Ireland where she was born and raised. In 1955, Pat moved to the United States. She was a member of the Irish American Club, an Irish Dance group, and Church of the Resurrection in Burtonsville where she attended with her sister, best friend and partner in crime, Carmel Meyers. In 1992, she retired from L.E. Harris Insurance Company. She was an avid Redskins fan, who would cheer them on no matter what and had a particular love for Riggo!
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years Ronald Thomsen; loving daughters, Mary Barnes, Angela Bowen, and Betty Soret-Hale; devoted grandchildren Kathleen, Alicia, Steven, Jessica, and Tricia; great-grandchild Lia, Damien, James, Teresa, Samantha, Nathan and Josh Jr.; siblings Joseph Hayes, Sean Hayes, Terri Counihan, Rita Hayes, Olive Hayes and the late Philip Hayes, Carmel Meyers, Eddie Hayes, Jimmy Hayes, and Vera Fitzpatrick.
