Patricia Hautamaki Engman, longtime resident of Virginia passed away peacefully at age 94 on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home in Eveleth. She was born November 3, 1921 daughter of Stuart and Myrtle (Rundgren) Murray in Virginia, MN; was a graduate of the Virginia High School class of 1939, and the St. Cloud Teacher’s College in 1942. She taught school in Pontiac, MI, Biwabik, Idington and Mt. Iron. Patricia married Rudolph William Hautamaki in Virginia on June 12, 1948 and they were married until his death in 1985. For five years she was the Society Editor for the Mesabi Daily News, then worked fifteen years as a travel agent for the Engman Travel Agency, and finally retired after ten years as a Deputy Court Clerk for St. Louis County.

Pat “Patsy” was the Class Reunion Treasurer for her class, an avid bridge player, loved reading and belonged to a Book Club for years. She loved fishing and boating, and enjoyed many years hosting family and friends at the family cabin on Namakan Lake, often playing bridge, smear and zilch. In May of 1991 she married Paul Carl Engman, and they traveled extensively in the US, Europe, and took many cruises. They enjoyed 12 years together until Paul passed away in January of 2003.

Pat is survived by son: Murray (Pamela) Hautamaki of Virginia, grandchildren: Shayna (Chris) Blexrud of Cape Coral, FL, Daniel (Jenna) Hautamaki of Britt, MN, and Michael Hautamaki of Cape Coral, FL; three great grandchildren, sister: Nancy (John) Pare of Grand Forks, ND; sister-in-law: Aune (Tom) Trygg of Fridley, MN, numerous nieces and one nephew. She is also survived by stepchildren: Paula (Fred) Passi of Highland, Utah, Bradley Engman of Virginia, and Kevin (Virginia) Engman of Virginia; their children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Rudolph Hautamaki, husband: Paul Engman, sister: Elizabeth “Betty” Cuppoletti, and brother: Stuart “Tim” Murray.
