Palmer Pederson of Salol, MN passed away on November 15, 2006 at the Roseau Area Hospital. He was 83 years old.
Palmer Oscar Pederson, the son of Margrete (Langladit) and Richard Pederson was born on September 14, 1923 in Norland Township, Salol, MN. He was educated at a country school in Norland near his home, and then Roseau High School where he graduated in 1941. On November 2, 1947 he was united in marriage to Marie Jean Anderson at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Falun.
Palmer served as a Motor Machinist in the United States Navy from March 17, 1945 to July 29, 1946. He farmed nearly all of his life and he lived on the same land in Norland all of his life, except for a couple years while away serving his country. He farmed small grains, dairy cattle and beef cattle. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing when he was young, and planting trees on his property. Palmer was a member of the Norland Free Lutheran Church.
Palmer is survived by his three children: Nancy (Wayne) Bradley of Fargo, ND, Lyndel (Doug) Qualley of Crookston, and Ron (Dee) Pederson of Salol; six grandchildren, Eric and Stephanie Bradley, Sarah Osier, Kristin and Melissa Qualley, and Nicole Pederson. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, two infant brothers, and siblings, Adolph, Olianna, Emma, Melvin, Clarence, Tillie, and Gilbert.
