Orval Thomas Lawson of Wright City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie Lawson of Wright City; four children, Robert Lawson and wife, Diane of Troy, MO, Chrissy Marshall and husband, Tim of Elsberry, MO, Debby Alls and husband, Brian of Troy, MO, and Tracy Holbrook and husband, Jack of Middlefield, OH; 12 grandchildren, Mandy Thomas and husband Phillip, Paul Lawson and wife, Korren, Johnnie Alls and wife, Tanya, Valarie Killian and husband, David, Bradley Lawson and wife, Brandi, Alonzo Marshall and wife, Courtney, Ada Ewen and husband, Cole, Celina Tackett and husband, Jeremy, William Holbrook and wife, Leah, Caleb Holbrook and wife, Hadassah, Olivia Holbrook, and Alana Holbrook; 22 great grandchildren, four brothers, Don Lawson, Kenny Lawson and wife, Sally, Jack Lawson and wife, Ruth, and Jerry Lawson and wife, Shirley; many other relatives, and friends.

Orval was born March 30, 1932 in Wentzville, Missouri; son of the late Thomas J. Lawson and wife, Mildred H. Halcomb Lawson. On October 14, 1953, Orval was united in marriage to Marie Sewell and four children were born to this marriage. Even until this day, Orval was the ultimate love of Marie’s life.

Orval was a laborer in construction for many years. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Independence Baptist Church in Foristell; where he was a past Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of Laborer Union Local #660.

Orval had a very active life that was full of good and memorable times. He enjoyed motorcycling, flying, playing chess, zip-lining into his 80’s, parasailing, boating, water skiing, camping, photography, writing in his daily journal, and family genealogy. He was well known for always having a great time and loving life. Orval usually always thought before he spoke and tried to follow the motto; Listen much and talk less. He especially enjoyed walks on the beach with his loving wife, Marie.

Orval will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
