Opal Martha Edgar, 88, of Sligo-Cook Station area, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville. She was born April 9, 1920 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur and Naomi (Coleman) Ogle. On June 20, 1939, Opal was united in marriage to Reuben James Edgar who preceded her in death on July 15, 2006.

She will be sadly missed and loving remembered by four sons, Jerry Edgar of Cuba, MO, Jim Edgar and wife Brenda of Irondale, MO, Bill Edgar and wife Janet and Jack Edgar and wife Jane, all of Steelville, MO; three daughters, Joyce Gibbs and husband Clarid of Dillard, MO, JoAnn Becker of Steelville, MO and Mary McConnell and husband Mike of St. Charles, MO; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Ogle of Calimesa, CA; one brother-in-law, Elmer Edgar and wife Edna of St. Louis, MO; five sisters-in-law, Bonnie Edgar of Springfield, MO, Alma Edgar of St. James, MO, Bonnie Lea and husband Pete and Beulah Moline all of Steelville, MO and Wanda Freie of Columbia, MO; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Edgar, her parents, one daughter-in-law, Janet Edgar, one brother Lewis Ogle, four sisters, Alice Burks and husband Arthur, Jean Richardson and husband Tom, Edna Schular and husband Fred and Betty Swyers and husband Clifford; one sister-in-law, Billie Ogle; three brothers-in-law, Harold Edgar, Cecil Edgar and Ernie Moline.

Opal was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherryville for many years.
