Opal Beatrice Codemo passed away Saturday September 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in St. James. She was 85 years of age.
Opal Codemo was born March 16, 1927 the daughter of the late Charles Jefferson and Adda Elvira DeNoon Adams.
On March 3, 1948 Opal was united in marriage to Nick Codemo. He survives at the family home in St. James.
Opal Codemo is survived by her husband Nick Codemo of St. James; three daughters Betty Hartman and husband Ron of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Barbara Hamilton of St. James and Opal Ann Williams and husband Terry of St. James, along with 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Opal Codemo is preceaded in death by her parents, one son-in-law Mike Hamilton, and four brothers: Herman DeNoon, along with Charles, Sam and Andy Adams, and sister-in-law Nora Adams.
Opal Codemo lived her entire life in St. James. She grew up on a farm and after marriage, she continued the farm life. Opal and her husband operated a dairy farm for over 60 years. She enjoyed the life of a farmer’s wife. Caring for her family and grandchildren was a great part of her life. She loved cooking for the family and making everyone’s favorite food.
