Norman Lee Harlow, 87, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018, at his home.
Norman was born on December 24, 1930 in Ralls County, Missouri the son of Nelson and Virginia (Evans) Harlow.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Bartlett of Hull, Illinois on November 25, 1953. She survives him along with a daughter, Teresa Graff (Jay) and son, Kevin Harlow (Brenda). Also surviving are five grandchildren, Shannon Huner of Boca Raton, FL, Christopher Harlow (Jessica) of Monroe City, MO, Nickolas Graff (Erin) of St. Louis, MO, Michael Harlow of Hannibal, MO and Carol Ann Beardsley of Quincy, IL; three great-grandsons, Wesley, Luke, and Michael Harlow, one great-granddaughter, Remington Harlow; two sisters, Virginia Roy and Carolyn Schrader; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Harlow was preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters.
Norman attended school in New London, MO, graduating as valedictorian in 1948. He went on to further his education at Hannibal-LaGrange College and graduated in 1950. Norman was an Armed Forces Veteran of the Korean War. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Army, he was employed as a control room operator at Northeast Missouri Power Company for 13 years. He later owned and operated Terminix in Quincy, IL until his retirement in 1991.
Norman cherished the time spent with family and friends. He particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandsons and racetrack travels with friends to view jointly owned harness racehorses.
Norman was a active member of the Hannibal First Christian Church, Hannibal Lion’s Club, Masonic Lodge, Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55., and past member of the Hannibal High School Booster Club.
