On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, with the rising of the sun, the book of life was completed for Norman “Butch” Brown, Jr.
Norman Brown Jr., son of the late Norman Brown, Sr., and Audrey Luck, was born in Washington, DC at Bolling Air Force Base on March 31, 1952.
Norman attended and graduated from Cardoza High School in Washington, DC. Upon graduating, he joined the 5th District Metropolitan Police department. In addition to joining the police department, Butch enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves.
He was honorably discharged after 6 years of service and went on to complete over 20 years of service with the Metropolitan Police department. After retiring from the Metropolitan Police Department, he got to embrace his love of corvettes by attending and participating in multiple car shows.
One of the only things that he loved more than his corvettes, was his Redskins. He was an avid Hogs fan and could always be seen either in his favorite chair or with other fans watching the Skins.
He also got to embrace his love for traveling by taking multiple cruises, and his love for food by trying new and old favorite restaurants.
Norman is survived by his wife, Yvonne Brown, sons Cory Brown, Tavon Brown, Kevin Washington, and Karl Thomas. His siblings Maria Taylor and Ronald Brown, grandchildren Amelia Peele, Andrea Garcia Brown, Octavius Brown, Jorden Davis, Kai Thomas, Laila Thomas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of lifetime friends.
