PORTLAND – Norma S. Tuell was born May 15, 1924 to Cora E. Rawley and Harold R. Savage in Portland.
She attended S. Portland schools then went on to work at the Old Port Pier where she was a supervisor for several years. Later she was employed as Plant Manager for the Med Central Fish Company for about 10 years. She then worked at several factories: Songo Shoe for many years, Data General, Sturbridge Yankee Work Shop from which she retired in 1991.
She was a Gold Star Mother, losing her only son in Vietnam in 1966, was past State Commander for the disabled American Veterans Annex, Past unit Commander of Dirigo # 5, she belonged to VFW Aux 832, American Legion Stuart P. Morrill Post 35 S. Portland, and a past president of the senior counsel at St. Cyr Court on Broadway in south Portland. She volunteered at Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough for several years and was chairperson of the volunteer program. She had a great love for fishing and cooking and went to play cards with all her friends who she valued very much.
She is survived and greatly missed by her Godson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Daniel P. Tuell
