Norma G. Banning, 83, of Steelville, MO passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at her home. She was born November 29, 1927 in St. Louis, MO to Paul Hawkins and Latta (Compton) Hawkins. In 1952 at Pocahontas, AR, she was united in marriage to Walter Banning who survives of the home.
Norma was a member of the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church of Shirley, MO all of her life.
She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. Throughout the years, she enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, but most of all she loved being with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifty-nine years, Walter Banning of Steelville, MO; three sons, Danny Banning and wife Linda of Sullivan, MO, Melvin Lee Worley of St. Louis, MO and Donald Wayne Worley and wife Jean of Oakley, CA; two daughters, Janet Conaway of Eldon, MO and Karen Isgrig and husband Allen of Steelville, MO; two sisters, Thelma Blair and husband Donald and Delores Henry all of Potosi, MO; twelve grandchildren, Ronald Wayne Worley and wife Heather of Albuquerque, NM, Regina Brockman of St. Joe, TX, Lisa Gillam and husband Richard of Davisville, MO, Rebecca Eaton and husband Shannon of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Sandy Mahurin and husband Shane of Eldon, MO, Mary Jane McFadden and husband Andrew of Highland, IL, Michael Martin and friend Teresa Vance, Amy Mounce and husband Thomas of Steelville, MO, Christopher Isgrig and wife Tasha of Steelville, MO, Tennile Banning of Sullivan, MO, Vanessa Schwab and husband John of Cuba, MO and Valerie Banning and fiance’ Kurtis Taylor of Sullivan, MO; twenty great-grandchildren, Hunter, Mia, Rachel, Janel, Dylan, Richard, April, Waylan, Katherine, Kaylee, Cody, Kayleb, Andrew, Jazlynn, Kaylynn, Brady, Brett, Dani Kae, Marcus and Alexander; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Obie, Stanley and Ward Hawkins; brother-in-law Jack Henry; sister-in-law, Berniece Kuntz; one great-grandchild, Shaina.
