     Norma A. Caccavale of Federalsburg, MD, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. She was 76 years old.

     Born in Jersey City, NJ on March 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Julius Caesar Scarano and Arline Margaret Heintz Scarano. Her husband, A. Joseph Caccavale, Jr., died November 15, 2011.

     Mrs. Caccavale moved to the Eastern Shore with her family in 1980. She and her husband established Joe’s Pizza and Sub Shop on Market Street in Denton. It eventually became Joe’s Hoagie House when they moved to North Sixth Street. She was always a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a great sense of humor. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, DE.

     Mrs. Caccavale is survived by two daughters, Holly M. Caccavale and Heather Caccavale, both of Federalsburg; a grandson, Ethan Joseph of Federalsburg; four sisters: Nancy Mastro (Louis) of Franklin, TN, Arlene Tennant of Kensington, MD, Virginia Scarano of Lansdale, PA, and S. Dale Ryan (Quentin) of Litchfield, CT; and two brothers, David Scarano of Denton and Mark Scarano (Renata) of Penobscot, ME; a sister-in-law, Theresa Scarano (Mike) of Whitling, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Caccavale was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Theresa M. Caccavale; a nephew, Michael Scarano; and a niece, Sheila C. Mastro.
