TAUNTON – Noemia (daCosta) Pereira, wife of the late Antonio Pereira, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Feb. 4, 2010.
She was 84.
Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria Lourdes (Esteves) Vaz daCosta.
Educated in Terceira schools, she moved to this area in 1969.
She was employed by the Frank Noone Shoe Company for over 20 years, retiring in 1989.
She also worked for Dyecraftsman for a while.
Mrs. Pereira enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and being with her family.
She leaves four sons, Joseph Costa and his wife Maria, Antonio Costa, John Pereira and Carlos Pereira, all of Taunton; three daughters, Connie Macedo and her husband Scott of N. Dighton, Maria Delgado of Berkley, and Rachel Mather and her husband Kenneth of Taunton; a brother, Manuel Costa of Taunton; three sisters, Carmina Cabral and Georgina Bettencourt, both of Taunton, and Odette Peixoto of CA; nineteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday Feb. 8th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 7th, from 3 to 5 p.m.
