Nicholas Peter Stengel passed away in his home in Montgomery Village, MD on July 7, 2014 at the age of 64. He was born to John and Barbara Stengel in Chicago, Illinois on January 18, 1950. He served four years in the Air Force where he met and married his wife of 43 years, Susan Clare Heid Stengel. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s Degree in economics from the University of Denver. His career in computer systems development spanned industry, local and federal government, and various entrepreneurial projects. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, going to Bible Study and other church activities, taking walks, working in the garden, raising orchids and starting up a good conversation with friends. Nick is survived by his wife, Susan; his mother, Barbara; his sister, Susan Rose Stengel, and his niece, Erica Sawers and her family. He was preceded in death by his father, John, and his sister, Adrienne.
