Nellie “Mickey” Myers of Denton, MD, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the UMSMC (Memorial Hospital) in Easton, MD. She was 86 years old.
Born in Baltimore, MD on March 20, 1931, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late Nelson Todd Rainier and Lucille Beatrice Boudreau Rainier. Her husband, Emil C. Myers, died September 22, 2013.
Mrs. Myers graduated from the Dundalk High School in Baltimore. In addition to being a mother and homemaker, she and her husband had operated the Sears store in Denton in the 1970’s for 13 years. She had also been a member of the Edenton Homemakers’ Club, The Red Hatters, and was a member of the Ames United Methodist Church in Hobbs near Denton where she recently became a member. She loved her church family and she was very loved by her church family, caregivers, and her many friends.
Mrs. Myers is survived by three daughters: Linda M. Shaffer (Harold) of Harrington, DE, Susan M. Nagel (C.B.) of Easton, MD, and Amily “Amy” Myers of Denton; seven grandchildren: Chris Nagel (Molly), Amylin Bani (A.J.), Lauren Hawley (Kevin), Heather Zawahry (Sam), Charles Shaffer (Ginnette), Mickey Thompson, and Marshall Thompson; and fifteen great grandchildren.
